Overview of the Punjab Bikes Scheme
The Punjab Bikes Scheme is nearing its registration deadline. Initiated by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, this project aims to provide bikes to students across the region. With the deadline set for April 29, eligible students must act quickly to secure their opportunity. As of now, over 140,000 students have set up accounts, but only a fraction have completed the registration.
Last Chance for Registration
Time is ticking for students who wish to benefit from this generous government initiative. Currently, two types of bikes are available: petrol bikes and electric bikes. So far, 26,339 students have registered for petrol bikes, while 63,336 have opted for electric bikes. This distinction ensures that all preferences are accommodated, making the scheme inclusive and flexible.

How to Register for Your Bike
Registration is exclusively online through the dedicated e-bike portal set up by the Punjab government. To apply, students must visit the portal, create an account, and submit their application. It’s important to note that no offline applications are accepted, ensuring a streamlined and efficient process. The scheme offers 20,000 bikes, with registration closing imminently.
Eligibility and Requirements
To qualify for a bike, applicants must:
- Be over 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid driving license or a learner’s permit.
- Be a regular student at a recognized university or college.
Common Issues with Account Creation
Some students may encounter issues while creating their accounts. The primary reasons include being under the age of 18 or not having a driving license. These criteria are strictly enforced to ensure the safety and appropriateness of the scheme’s beneficiaries.

Choosing Between Petrol and Electric Bikes
Applicants have the option to choose between petrol and electric bikes at the time of registration. However, each student is limited to applying for one bike only, streamlining the process and ensuring fair distribution among all participants.
This initiative not only facilitates transportation for students but also promotes eco-friendly travel options with the inclusion of electric bikes. As the deadline approaches, students are urged to complete their registration to avoid missing out on this valuable opportunity.
